Prez Mahama's "Cat Attitude" Is Deceiving...Respect Is Earned - John Boadu

National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has likened the humbleness nature of President John Dramani Mahama to that of a "cat".

Making his submissions on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', John Boadu expressed disappointment in President John Mahama over his recent assessment of the opposition New Patriotic Party.

Addressing NDC faithfuls at Ho in the Volta Region on Thursday, President Mahama ridiculed his rivals calling the NPP acting National Chairman as "Opana" and a recent NPP press conference as "rabbit."

The opposition NPP organized a press conference on Wednesday chaired by Freddy Blay, acting National Chairman of the party, admonishing the President to deliver on his promises to Ghanaians.

But President Mahama at Ho found a befitting response for the NPP, saying “I don’t intend to respond to that press conference. In Accra I said that when you are a hunter and you go to the forest to hunt for elephant, you don’t stop by the way to shoot at rabbits.

"The press conference is a rabbit press conference and I don’t have time to shoot at rabbits because I am going to hunt an elephant...This one says I am acting chairman of the party, this one says I am chairman of the party. I thought ‘Opana’ would rather pay attention to the competence of uniting his party than addressing press conferences at him."

Reacting to President Mahama's remarks, John Boadu believed the President has been deceiving Ghanaians and lying to them as well.

He alluded to the President's Ho rally where he told the gathering that his government has made great strides in Ghana's debt recovery.

To President Mahama, the current debt recovery of the country is better than erstwhile Kufour regime.

But John Boadu noted that the only President who has made a great difference so far as Ghana's debt recovery is concerned is former President John Agyekum Kufour.

This, he said, is because President Kufour inherited a 6.21 billion dollar indebted nation but reduced Ghana's debt to 3.8 billion dollars before leaving office.

He therefore cautioned the President to be discreet and decorous in his utterances to Ghanaians.

"You’re using our resources and taxes to ensure the Ghana’s growth. But you’re using it for your rounds. So, at least you’ll respect the people whose glory you’re living on. You’ll respect them. This is the little you have to do as a President.

This is the attitude of a cat. You’re lying to the people of our country. In your attempt at trying to explain, you’re even lying…This is a country that I believe relatively, there is peace. This is a country that we want to continue to respect our leaders but respect is earned,” he said.
