President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians that his government is working assiduously to end the national erratic power supply by the end of this year.
Delivering his State of the Nation Address on the floor of Parliament Thursday morning, President John Mahama disclosed that the government is rolling out initiatives to salvage the energy sector.
He revealed that his government is undertaking some emergency power projects to resolve the perpetual power cuts in the country.
The emergency power project is intended to add 1000 megawatts to the national grid to ensure that the power shortages become a thing of the past.
He also outlined other initiatives that his administration has begun, stressing that the government has solicited assistance from countries such as Turkey and Dubai which will add 450 megawatts and 250 megawatts of electricity respectively to boost the energy sector.
These initiatives are to relieve the Ghanaian consumers' plight. |
