President Mahama expresses condolences to the late Volta Regional Minister’s family

President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his condolence to the family of the late Volta Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Beum, Henry Ford Kamel.

The Minister died yesterday, December 25 at the Jasikan Hospital in the Volta Region few hours after he collapsed.

The deceased body was later flown to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.

The late Hon. Henry Ford Kamel was survived by a wife and three children.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for former President Rawlings, Kofi Adams has described as unfortunate the death of the Volta Regional Minister; a man he says was a “builder” and devoted to national development.

Mr. Kofi Adams also described him as an open person whose ears were not shut to any person close to him.

“He is a very quiet person, quiet but open and ready to listen to anybody who gets close to him. That is him and you would scarcely show anger publicly even if he didn’t like what you are saying, he has a way of going about it but he will not exhibit that anger publicly.”

He also bemoaned the untimely incident and expressed his condolence to the deceased’s family, saying “his wife and children; they will be most hit on a day like this, 25th December, when we are supposed to be celebrating the birth of our Saviour, we have to be mourning the death of our loved one who not too long ago just celebrated his birthday.”

Government is expected to meet with the deceased's family today to discuss his funeral arrangements.
