Upper West Regional Minister responding to treatment

The Upper West Regional Minister, Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, who sustained gunshot wounds when his vehicle was besieged by unidentified assailants in the early hours of Friday, is in stable condition.

The Public Relations Officer for the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, Bagdara Tanko disclosed that the Minister’s vehicle was ambushed whilst on his way to visit some districts in the region.

He is said to be on a “Thank you tour” to Fielemuo to express his gratitude to the people for electing him as the Sisala West Member of Parliament when he came under attack by some unknown gunmen.

They opened fire and a bullet struck the Minister.

He was rushed to the Gwollu Government Hospital in the region where he is responding to treatment.

Deputy Regional Minister, Mr. Kale Caesar, has hinted Mr. Amidu would be flown to Accra for extensive medical attention.
