Mahama; Biggest Beneficiary Of GYEEDA Rot?

A member of the People's Progressive Party's Communication team has expressed resentment over Government's termination of all service contracts between the Ghana Youth Employment Entrepreneurial Agency (GYEEDA) and its service providers.

Addressing the issue in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Charles Owusu slammed President John Dramani Mahama and his government, claiming they are not committed to solving the problems associated with the GYEEDA saga.

According to him, President Mahama is the "biggest beneficiary" of the GYEEDA rot, hence his seeming refusal to bring the culprits to book. He asserted that President Mahama delights in the corruption that has stained the GYEEDA programme and so, doubted if he's even capable of fighting the canker.

Though government has terminated the contracts of the companies under the GYEEDA programme, Charles Owusu is however dissatisfied with the decision because to him, he (President Mahama) is at variance with the law to favour himself and his cronies.

"Mahama is the biggest beneficiary of the GYEEDA rot and he can never deny it today nor tomorrow for Ghanaians to now see him that he is a clean person, somebody who wants to fight corruption. He himself is the most corrupt President ever that this country has ever had,” the PPP activist charged.

To him, the surest way to prove his (President Mahama) commitment is only when he allows the law to take its course against government officials complicit in the GYEEDA deal.

Government cancelled the contracts including Rlg Communication's training module, Asongtaba Cottage Industry & Exchange Programme (ACI&EP) and the Better Ghana Management Services Limited, a subsidiary of Jospong Group, the parent company of Zoomlion, after realizing the malfeasance perpetuated by the companies in the deal.
