Titus
Glover, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Tema East, has
disputed claims that the party's 2012 Presidential candidate, Nana
Akufo-Addo is the cause of problems in the party.
According to him, Nana Addo's exploits for the party cannot be undermined.
Speaking on Oman FM,
Titus Glover cautioned critics of Nana Addo to stop pitching him
against this year's Presidential Aspirant, Alan Kyeremateng. He wondered
why the critics have sought to divide the party by suggesting that
there are factions in it and so, noted that the NPP is not an "Akanized
party" but a party that unifies all its members.
Titus Glover
further stated that the people of Ashanti Region, particularly referred
to as "Asantes" adore Nana Addo despite his Akyem background.
“Akufo-Addo
is an institution in our politics in this country. He has lived his
life. Everything he must do to help the country’s democracy, he has done
it...Why do we always want to find trouble between Akyem(s) and
Asante(s)? Where’s it going to get us to?...The NPP is not an Akanized
party. It’s a nationalist party that belongs to all of us.”
