NPP Group Attacks P.C Appiah Ofori

A group calling itself "New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth for 2016" has issued a stern warning to the former Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency, P.C. Appiah Ofori to desist from running down Aspirants in the party’s Presidential slot.

The Coordinator of the group, Barima Sarpong, cautioned Hon. P.C Appiah Ofori to stop venting his spleen on the candidates, particularly Alan Kyeremateng.

He sought to remind the former NPP MP of the support the party faithfuls gave him (P.C Appiah Ofori) during the primaries in which he gained room into the Legislative House in the country.

He so wondered why Mr. Appiah Ofori would slam the other candidates who have expressed interest in contesting the flagbearer position of the party, when he received maximum support from his opponents during his tenure.

To him, Mr. Appiah Ofori’s thoughts on Mr. Alan Kyeremateng as an unsuitable Presidential candidate for the party are "increasingly becoming selfish.”

“If the contestants or the opponents of P.C (Appiah Ofori)…had thought the way P.C is thinking today and decided not to contribute to the campaign of P.C Appiah Ofori after he had won the primaries, could he have ever become an MP?” he queried.

P.C Appiah Ofori, speaking in an interview with Okay FM on Monday, admonished the party executives not to elect new ones but keep the same team that led the party in the 2012 elections or else he would disband himself from the party.

He promised to channel all his resources and energy engaging in "personal profitable business."

But also speaking with Radio Gold, the NPP Youth for 2016 Coordinator noted Hon. P.C Appiah Ofori’s conduct is inimical to the growth of the party.

“…he (P.C Appiah Ofori) cannot start spilling out untruth. In that case, he’s hurting the party….he might think he’s hurting the chances of Hon. Alan Kyeremateng or even the rest of the contestants. No! He’s hurting the party.

“So, we cannot as youth of this party who want to take over a party that is so strong and not weak; we cannot sit unconcerned and look at P.C run everybody down. We cannot afford to mistake his irresponsibility for democratic stance. This is totally irresponsible,” Barima Sarpong said.
