Central
Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwamena Duncan has
advised ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), claiming the party
needs to initiate some major changes as it buckles up for the 2016
general elections.
Kwamena Duncan stridently insisted that NDC should reshuffle its current leadership.
According to him, the party should elect a "new flagbearer" to show their readiness to compete with the NPP, come 2016.
Speaking on Peace FM's flagship programme "Kokrokoo",
he called on the party leadership to ditch President John Mahama, who
to him is a potential threat to the fortunes of the NDC.
The NDC,
he said, can be likened to an organization which has woefully failed to
produce the desired results and to him, as part of measures to revive
the organization, its leadership would have to "fire the person" at the
helm of affairs.
“…the NDC should start working towards finding a
new flagbearer; somebody who can work hard for change to happen…We
should not, as a country, be dreaming,” he said.
He also sought God's face to purge the country of the possibility of another NDC term.
“It
(NDC winning the 2016 elections) is something that indeed God must
spare us and we need to avoid it….He (God) must not visit another NDC
four-year term again on the good people of this country. Whatever way,
it is something that we must avoid and God must help us in that regard,”
Kwamena Duncan said.
