Deputy
Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Ernest
Owusu Bempah has called on President John Dramani Mahama not to heed the
plea by the National Executive Council of his party, to reinstate the
Ahafo Ano South District Chief Executive (DCE).
Ernest Owusu Bempah made the call during an interview with Peacefmonline.com,
stating emphatically that any attempt by the President to restore the
DCE, Gabriel Barima, would be a "disgrace" to his administration.
Owusu
Bempah argued that the DCE's public display of annoyance "insults" the
image of the Mahama government. He noted that the DCE's return to his
office will not augur well for the ruling party because his attitude "is
nothing to write home about."
He therefore emphasized that the
call by the NEC, engineered by the party's General Secretary, Johnson
Asiedu Nketia, clearly shows that the party endorses "indiscipline" and
that it is "full of a bunch of indiscipline people; people who don’t
respect Ghanaians and don’t have anything to do with morality in the
society. They endorse immorality in society. They endorse bad attitude
(bad character) in society…
“It will be a disgrace and a shame for the NDC” to reinstate Mr. Gabriel Barima, he added.
According
to him, Mr. Barima misused his authority and undermined the people in
his district, hence underscoring the importance for his dismissal. |
