Who Invited SA Mercenaries To Ghana And...Why In An Election Year? - Pratt Quizzes

Kwesi Pratt, Managing Editor of the Insightnewspaper, is repulsed with the presence of three retired security operatives from the Southern part of the continent in the country, who were arrested over the weekend.

Three retired South African Police Officers were arrested at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region for allegedly engaging in activities that threaten the nation’s security.

The three – Major Ahmed Shaik (retd), 54; Warrant Officer Denver Dwahye, 33, and Captain Mlungiseli Jokani, 45 – were arrested at the EL-Capitano Hotel where they were lodging since arriving in the country early this month.

They were reportedly training some young people in various security drills, including unarmed combat, weapon handling, VIP protection techniques and rapid response manoeuvres.

Addressing the issue on Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Kwesi Pratt was worried that the South African nationals could gain easy access into the country and further sought to know their purpose for entering the nation.

He also sought to know the people who brought the South Africans into the country to hold security drills for people in the country.

To Kwesi Pratt, the actions of the three retired South African Police Officers needs probing but reserved his comments till a detailed investigation is done.

"Who brought them here? Why? Elections! How does weapon handling aids a party during elections?" Mr. Pratt questioned furiosly.
