Bernard Mornah, General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC), has asked leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to call to account the actions of the private security group guarding the party's headquarters, named the "Invincible Forces" (IF).
Contributing to Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Bernard Mornah called on the leaders of the NPP to name and shame the personnel drawn of the IF.
He also called on the NPP to reveal the identity of the person who owns the party's private security group.
Addressing the unprofessional conduct exhibited by the security group when they recently warned some National Executives not to step foot at the Headquarters, Mr. Mornah urged the NPP to not only drive the security forces from the party headquarters but take punitive measures against them.
“…Somebody should tell us who owns the Invincible forces, whether it is for an individual or for the party. If it’s for the party, then I think that everyone should not just ask the Invincible forces to leave the NPP headquarters but they should condemn and bring them to book…”
He expressed his disappointment in the NPP for failing to take action against the security outfit.
“I feel sad…NPP security preventing NPP elected officers from coming to the office. It is not individual security but party security. When the elected party leaders are coming to their office and instead of the invisible forces who are supposed to protect the interest of the party, you attack party elected officers. And when their supporters are coming to say ‘give way’, it also turns into a bout. Something is not right! |
