17-Year-Old Girl Raped & Killed; Two Others Injured At Hwereso-Boankra

A 17-year-old girl has been killed at Hwereso-Boankra in the Ashanti Region.

The 17-year-old girl was raped and killed by a young man believed to be in his 20's on Monday, March 21 around 11 pm.

Narrating the incident toPeacefmonline.com, Assemblyman of Hwereso-Boankra in the Ejisu-Juaben District William Obeng recounted that the guy happens to be known by the victims' family and normally comes to the family house for food.

His usual custom brought him to the deceased family house in the early hours of yesterday and after eating, he went on his way till evening.

He returned to the house around 11 pm, knocking on the door of the deceased family who also felt safe to open him and asked of his mission back to the house.

According to the Assemblyman, the guy forcefully entered the victim's room which also had the victim's mother and her daughter-in-law.

He heavily banged the door behind him wielding a machete and kitchen knife, and reportedly told the girl’s mother to allow him to rape her daughter or he would hack the three people in the room with the weapons.

The mother agreed and the daughter willingly offered her body to the 'rapist' who after satisfying his libido went ahead to hack the chest of the girl with the machete, killing her on the spot.

He turned on the mother and elder sister and struck them with the weapons.

Her elder sister sustained minor injuries but the victim's mother has been taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in the Ashanti Region for medical attention.

The mortal remains of the 17-year-old final year student of Hwereso MA JHS has also been deposited at the KATH morgue.

Meanwhile, the guy absconded into the forest but was later found dead today.

There are no reports yet about condition of the perpetrator of the crime before murdering the young girl.

The Police have launched investigations in the cause of the incident.
