Kwesi Pratt has raised concerns over the opposition New Patriotic Party's justification regarding the entry of the 3 deported South African nationals to Ghana.
Before the 3 South Africans were arraigned before court and later deported from the shores of the country, the NPP functionaries had defended them stating that their mission in the country was far from terrorism.
The NPP disclosed that the three men were brought to Ghana on the ticket of the party to take their members through various security drills, particularly to protect their party flagbearer Nana Addo and his Running Mate Dr. Bawumia.
The party's assertion was contrary to views that the South African nationals may have entered the country with some ulterior motives; which warranted their arrest by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
Speaking on Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Kwesi Pratt was alarmed at the justifications given by the opposition party and sought to find out if the activities of the three men would not have been a matter of concern to any other country like it is to Ghana.
According to him, no nation in the world would sit idle noticing that some foreigners have infiltrated their country.
To Mr. Pratt, there may not be anything wrong with the BNI arresting the three men on suspicion that they may pose security threats because what they were employed to do was indeed worrying.
“Which country in this world will gather information that foreigners have come to train their nationals in weapons handling, crowd control, VIP protection and so on; it will not raise an alarm? Which country? Is it America or Britain or where? Anywhere in the world when something like this happens, it’s a major concern...You can disagree...but at least state the truth,” he added. |
