James Kwabena Bomfeh of the Convention People's Party (CPP) has rubbished the national address by the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo on the state of Ghana.
Nana Akufo-Addo on Monday delivered 'The Real State of the Nation Address' highlighting the flaws of the current administration and calling for change of government in the November 7 general elections.
His remarks about the nation came on the heels of President John Dramani Mahama's State of the Nation Address he delivered on the floor of Parliament last Thursday.
According to James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, Nana Addo's speech cannot merit the term State of the Nation Address.
He noted that Ghana does not have two Presidents and so Nana Addo should not supposedly step into the shoes of President John Mahama.
“You can respond to the State of the Nation Address given by the President but we cannot have two Presidents at any particular time in the country’s history…If you say you’re giving the true State of the Nation Address or the real State of Nation Address, what are you purporting to do? Who are you and in what capacity are you doing such a thing?”
Acknowledging President John Mahama's State of the Nation Address as an "excellent delivery" on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Kabila admonished Nana Addo saying “Nana Akufo-Addo can respond to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama but needless to call it the real State of the Nation Address.” |
