Ken
Kuranchie, Managing Editor of the Daily Searchlight newspaper, says the
New Patriotic Party should nip their internal conflict in the bud and
ensure that the party builds itself to remain as a formidable force to
compete with in 2016 Presidential race.
According to him, it is
‘premature’ for the party members to immediately pitch Nana Akufo-Addo
for the flagbearership of the party after the Supreme Court ruling.
Speaking
on Oman Fm on Monday, he noted that the “NPP is a very formidable
party”, so, the party should turn their “arsenals and guns” on being a
proper opposition party.
Advising the NPP, he added that the
members should respect the privacy of Nana Addo and therefore give him
the opportunity to make his own decision.
“Let him recoup and
rebuild himself and when he comes with a decision to whether contest
again or not, if you want to express your support for him; you can go
ahead. But if you don’t want to support him, then you can go and support
another candidate.”
