Allow All Flagbearer Aspirants To Contest Nana Addo…They Can Spring A Surprise!!!

Lawyer and President of the Legal Advocacy Foundation, Maurice Ampaw has kicked against calls for the Presidential aspirants competing Nana Addo for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearership slot to step down.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, opined that calls on Alan Kyeremateng, Addai-Nimo and Osei Ameyaw to bow out of the contest for Nana Addo to run unopposed on October 18 this year are in a violation of the party's constitution.

According to him, it will be unfair for any candidate to be pressurized to step down for the 2012 NPP Presidential candidate, Nana Addo, because in his conviction, each of the candidates stand a possible chance of winning the Flagbearer position.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, Lawyer Ampaw charged NPP leadership, members and delegates to "respect the right of others in the interest of NPP. The candidates should be given the opportunity…So it’s unfair. It’s unconstitutional, against the rules” and constitution of the NPP “to stampede” Mr. Alan Kyerematen and the other two aspirants.

He argued that the aspirants could pull a surprise during the NPP primaries on October 18th.

“So we should allow the delegates to decide...” he stated.

In his concluding remarks, Lawyer Ampaw advised the NPP to ensure unity in the party and avoid clashes in the party.

“They should all remain calm. They should remain united.”
