NPP Delegates Voted For Nana Addo In Anticipation Of Favours?

General Secretary of the Peoples' National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah says the delegates of the opposition New Patriotic Party were by some means induced to vote for the party's 2012 flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the just-ended Special Congress.

Speaking on Peace FM's Morning Show "Kokrokoo", Bernard Mornah was of a strong view that the delegates voted for Nana Addo due to the material gains they might likely benefit from him.

According to him, their focus was on the reward they would get when Nana Addo emerges the best choice during the Special Congress.

The PNC General Secretary further claimed that Nana Addo was given a preferential treatment prior to the Special Congress on Sunday, August 31, 2014 while the others were unfairly treated.

He explained that Nana Addo, being a two-time Presidential candidate of the party, had an ample time to tour the entire nation but the rest had to work within a 3-month time-span.

“In this congress, the National Executives somehow were stampeded…Materialism influenced the conscience of the super delegates. Because there’s some award somewhere, everybody thus voted for Nana Addo," Bernard Mornah told host Kwami Sefa Kayi.
