Kweku Baako On NPP Race: "Pulling 0ut of The Race Now Is a Casualty"

Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Kweku Baako says the aspirants for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will inflict "fatal injuries" on themselves should any of them decide to bow out of the contest.

According to him, the aspirants should not be cajoled to step down to give room for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2012 flagbearer of the party.

Speaking on "Kokrokoo" on Peace FM, the seasoned journalist said "pulling out of the race now is a casualty" and therefore advised the aspirants to persevere to the end of the contest, which will be held on October 18 this year.

He urged critics calling for the aspirants to allow Nana Addo to go unopposed to desist from such character but rather ensure that the constitutional provisions of the party are upheld.

Meanwhile, there have calls on some leading members of the party to quit, hence rally support behind Nana Addo to run alone.

Some party folks and a section of the public have insisted that Alan Kyeremateng should give Nana Addo his blessing to become the flagbearer of the party, even before the October Congress.
