Why Can't I Express My Thoughts On NPP Matters Even If...- Kweku Baako

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako, has called on the Police Service to launch thorough investigations into the vandalism incident that occurred at the New Patriotic Party (NPP's) Headquarters on Tuesday.

He called on the Police Service to delve deep into the issue and unearth the truth.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi, Kweku Baako noted that preliminary checks done by him reveal that the impact of the damage done to NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong's car was not as damaging as has been portrayed by him.

According to Mr. Baako, an interview he conducted with an eyewitness indicated that Mr. Agyepong's car suffered a minor crack but reports in the media later on revealed deep hole in the vehicle's rear windscreen.

I think the Police must do a good job…I’m not in a position to impugn the integrity of Kwabena Agyepong but I think that the best thing to do is for the Police to do a very professional work on this matter. There are two pictures…There were also eye witnesses. The Police must put all these things together and do a a thorough job…

Mr. Baako further cautioned members of the opposition party attacking his personality for discussing NPP issues to be wary of their criticisms.

A text message sent by a listener to Peace FM's flagship morning show 'Kokrokoo' Wednesday, during a panel discussion on recent happenings within the NPP, suggested the seasoned editor has a score to settle with embattled Mr Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong. Some have even resorted to using social media to descend on Mr Baako.

Debunking claims that he despises the embattled duo, Mr Baako described them as totally unfounded and needless, pointing out that he has since been a close pal of the party's General Secretary and other ranking members of the party, and sees no reason why he cannot offer his thought on the subject matter.

I went out of my way to campaign for Kwabena Agyepong. The little voice that I have within the NPP because I’m not a member, so I cannot sit here and pretend that I have influence in that party. And it’s a huge party but at least, our little contribution; in my analysis and advocacy, I went for Kwabena Agyepong openly and Kwabena is a friend. He is like a brother. At times, if my position does not go in their favour, I don’t see why I should not say it. I don’t see why with the level that I’ve reached, even if my opinion is wrong, I cannot express it freely,” he stated.
