Dr.
Abu Sakara, Presidential candidate of the Convection People’s Party
(CPP), has expressed confidence in President John Dramani Mahama as well
as the 2012 Presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic
Party (NPP), stating categorically that the two leaders are readily
committed to maintaining the peace of the country.
Speaking in an
interview with Radio Gold, the CPP flagbearer noted that Nana Addo and
the President have both tasted the bitter and sweet moments of the
nation and would prefer to have their names registered in the country’s
history books for good reasons.
To him, both Nana Addo and
President Mahama “are people who are deeply committed to the rule of law
and democracy in this country. They, themselves, have cited incidences
in the past where they have been champions. So…it is not now that they
will deny the ultimate rule of the game which is to accept the law of
the land as determined by the Supreme Court who are the competent people
to determine what is justice.”
He continued that the two leaders
are “prepared to meet at a point where nationalism takes over
partisanship and where the nation comes first and the parties come
second,” and further advised all political figures in the country to
subject their interest to interest of the nation. |
