Member
of Parliament for Ahafo Ano South in the Brong Ahafo Region, Hon.
Stephen Balado Manu seems to have become fed up with the operations of
the Mahama-led government.
Hon. Balado Manu, making his
submissions on Oman FM’s political programme “National Agenda”, strongly
held that the work by government under the able leadership of President
Mahama to unearth the rot in the GYEEDA programme is only intended to
“create, loot and share” the money in the State coffers with its
cronies.
He therefore doubted the commitment of the government to
do due diligence to the content of the report because to him,
government is just putting up an impression before Ghanaians.
Alluding
to the ruling party’s aversion towards the erstwhile Kufour
administration’s initiative of bridging the gap between youth employment
and unemployment issues, Hon. Balado Manu did not mince words as he
believed the incumbent government is finding a “way to loot the money in
the State coffers in order to enrich themselves for Ghana to be
poverty-stricken.”
He also took a swipe at the Presidential
Advisor, P.V Obeng, who is presiding over the committee set up by
President Mahama to review the GYEEDA report, saying the choice of the
Presidential Advisor is a ploy for him to fiddle with the report.
Meanwhile,
President Mahama on Monday assured Ghanaians that under his
administration, GYEEDA will be restructured to “let it achieve the
objective for which it actually was set up.”
“GYEEDA has run into
some problems because of poor management and coordination…The
government is working on that”, President Mahama assured. |
