The
2012 Presidential Aspirant for the People’s National Convention (PNC),
Hassan Ayariga has advised Ghanaians to repose confidence in the Supreme
Court Justices, who to him are well-versed in the law to give a fair
verdict on the Presidential election dispute.
Speaking on Radio
Gold, Mr. Ayariga admonished the citizenry to believe in the nine-member
panel presided by Justice William Atuguba that “they have the power.
They have the authority and we have faith in them. And we should listen
to them. If they give or they pass the ruling, whichever way it goes, we
should believe in that they have studied the law very well. They know
it than what we watched and what we saw and what we heard.”
According
to him, it is necessary for leaders and civil societies in the country
to preach peace to the citizens so as to avoid the possibility of any
person misinterpreting the law, which inadvertently may ignite chaos in
the nation.
“The problem is not about the petition. The problem
is how we interpret the hearing of the petition…So; we are saying the
peace message is necessary because we do not want people to misinterpret
the law,” he stated, urging all and sundry to be nationalistic because
“Ghana is bigger than all of us.” |
