Please Pastors, Don’t Go To Church Saying I’m Sad We’ve Lost…Or

General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Reverend Dr. Kwabena Opuni - Frimpong has advised religious leaders in the country to remain politically neutral in their sermons to their congregation.

He noted that several Ministers of God are affiliated with certain political parties and may be tempted to emit their emotions to their congregation when they get to their various churches, and so, warned them not to take sides after the Supreme Court Judges have given their verdict on the election petition on Thursday.

“I know Pastors also vote and therefore, they are affiliated with some political parties. But whether your party wins or loses, you don’t go to church and tell your church members I’m sad, we have lost or I’m happy, we have won.

“Please, Ministers of the gospel, remain politically neutral.”

He spoke in an interview with Radio Gold.

Also, he urged Ghanaians to unite and safeguard the integrity of the country in order to “leave it a better place for those that will come after us…We as a people must encourage ourselves.”
