We know what we want, Nobody can decide for us - Socrates Safo tells government

Movie Producer, Socrates Safo says Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abdul Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, may not be the right person to bring relief to the creative arts industry.
Socrate Safo in an interview with Citi FM indicated that Hon. Rashid Pelpuo does not emanate from the creative arts industry and therefore preferred  a member of the sector.

He stated that if government brings "technocrats, lawyers, scholars, whatever, you will create confusion in the industry."

He added: “We as creative arts people are a bunch of delicate persons and if we are not handled well, it’s either we will confuse and frustrate you or you will confuse and frustrate us. So it’s about time that we get people who are in the industry to work for creative arts people.  In the end the government will not benefit from the idea and the purpose for which it has established the industry.”

He therefore stressed that a person from the industry will well understand the plight the sector faces and so, called on government to rather appoint someone who is well-versed in the sector.

He however commended President John Mahama for his insightful thoughts about the creative arts industry.
