James
Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr., popularly known as "Kabila", has called on
President John Mahama to 'wake up' and work assiduously to develop the
country.
The CPP former National Youth Organizer, responding to
President Mahama's caution to his critics not to "vent their
frustration" regarding his administration on radio, expressed
disappointment in the Mahama-led government on Oman FM's political
analysis programme.
According to him, President Mahama has turned
his office into a Public Relations machine and only pays lip service to
revamping the progress of the economy.
It could be recalled that
President John Mahama, addressing a gathering at the 120th celebration
of the Catholic Archdiocese of Accra, admonished his critics not to hop
onto the media platform to broach their concerns.
"...it doesn’t
pay to vent our frustration on radio talk show programmes...if we must
to build a better and prosperous nation, all of us need to come together
and act in concert," President Mahama said, imploring his critics to
assist him steer the affairs of the country.
This
notwithstanding, the CPP guru believes President Mahama has failed the
country and in his conviction, his performance is far below his
predecessors; Former Presidents, J.A Kufour and Jerry John Rawlings and
the late President J.E.A Mills.
To him, though the late President performed abysmally, his administration is better than President Mahama's.
“Our
President is turning the Presidency into a PR machine. It’s always
talking…It exhibits a talking President. The President, himself, is
talking too much...On the scale of aggregate and I doubt if the three
years left, John Mahama can do anything to overturn the mark I’m giving
now. He’s running far, far below any of these three…Mills not being in
charge is far, far better than what is happening in this government.
“I
believe sincerely in my heart I don’t wish you ill, Mr. President. I
pray and wish that you would succeed. Unfortunately, Mr. President, what
you’re doing doesn’t give any indication that you earnestly would want
to succeed…Ghana deserves better. Mr President, wake up,” he stated.
