Spokesperson
for the Convention People's Party (CPP), in charge of Youth and Sports,
James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr., has lauded the erstwhile Kufour government
for instilling discipline in its officials.
Kwabena Bomfeh, also
known as Kabila, commended Ex-President J.A Kufour for ensuring that his
appointees worked effectively under his regime.
Speaking on Oman
FM, Kabila was of a strong view that unlike President Kufour's
administration where the President played a key role in supervising his
Ministers, the Mahama-led government has failed to replicate such good
leadership traits of the NPP government. According to him, President
John Dramani Mahama has lost his clout in the face of his government
officials.
He said due to the "loose" leadership traits of
President Mahama, the Ministers are left off the hook when they shirk
their duties. He categorically stated that President Mahama's
administration is weak and he (President Mahama) lacks a good sense of
judgment.
Contributing to a panel discussion programme on the
Madina-based radio station, Kabila lauded the erstwhile administration
saying “President Kufour, if for nothing at all, was in charge of his
government. You dare not (misbehave). Some Ministers…they were sacked,
they were shown the exit because he (Kufuor) was the final authority.”
He
therefore wondered why the opposite is so with President Mahama, who he
claimed had allowed his appointees to "drag him through mud."
"President
Mahama has become the first resort instead of being the last resort…it
shows a certain trait. What it indicates is that, the President’s
Ministerial appointees are not performing. So, each and every day, he
has to come and forward and do their work for them, making his Ministers
the last resort. It exposes one fundamental thing about the President’s
own weakness; his poor sense of judgment,” Kabila said. |
