"Vikileaks": Prez Mahama’s Master Plan Is Simple; Let’s “Betray” Vicky…And Make Her Appear “Brainless”

The leaked tape of the voice of former Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hammah, has left several people bewildered while others crave for answers to the revelations on the tape.

The Deputy Minister was caught on the tape, divulging the secret activities of some government officials and also nursing an interest to build a million dollar fortune for herself as she remains in government office.

But her dreams were shattered when the tape went viral and all its content scrutinized by political and socio-economic commentators.

This resulted in her dismissal from the Mahama-led government.

Commenting on the vickyleaks (Victoria Hammah's revelations) saga on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Central Regional Secretary of the NPP, Kwamena Duncan, sought to find out the rationale for President Mahama's deportment during the final day when the Judges gave their verdict on the court case.

It could be recalled that the President and his Vice, Kwesi Amissah Arthur, both wore white garments and comfortably sat in the Flagstaff House to receive the verdict in good faith.

Though the two leaders' attitude courted controversy after the court ruling, it however died down until now that Kwamena Duncan believes there's no smoke without fire.

According to him, the two leaders might have worn the white garments because they were "privy" to the verdict on the case.

He believed the conduct of the President and the Veep deepens claim which were made by Ms. Hammah on the secret tape recording.

“If I were the President, even if I knew; even if I had been told, for broader governance issues that people may interpret that I might have been privy [for broader governance issues]…Imagine Nana Addo. Imagine the reverse that Nana Addo had been in white apparel, had gone to the court and the court had ruled in his favour. Imagine.”

Touching on the strong denial by Nana Oye Lithur that she did not in any way influence the final decision of the nine-member Supreme Court Justices on the election petition case, Kwamena Duncan opined that the Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister only gave a "government induced response" to absolve herself from the allegations levelled against her by Ms. Hammah.

“Victoria Hammah is a very credible person who knew what she was talking about…The master plan by government is that we should betray her. Let’s desert her. Let’s make her look, quote unquote, brainless...For me, this is a reflection of what this entire Presidency is about…This is a President cut out for public service…The President defends and protects Tony Lithur and Tony Lithur does the same. That is the President we have,” he said.
