I will not accept any offer from President Mahama – Allotey-Jacobs

Central Regional Propaganda Secretary for the National Democratic Congress, Bernard Allotey-Jacobs says he will turn down any appointment offer from President John Dramani Mahama.

He revealed this Tuesday night on Adom TV channel on Multi TV.

According to him, he will not accept any offer from President John Mahama as an appointee in his government.

He however stated that “the President has held consultations with the party at all the Regional branches” to ensure his cabinet members are decentralized.

Allotey-Jacobs reacting to the decision by the majority in Parliament to appoint the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Joe Ghartey, as the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament; said President Mahama played a key role in the appointment of the NPP Stalwart.

He said the decision was reached after President Mahama stepped in which portrays him as a peaceful leader.

To him, the move by the President is “a demonstration of his peaceful nature and his quest to see the nation united”.

He however stressed that “The NDC had to swallow their pride by bringing in Joe Ghartey [as Second Deputy Speaker]; we were bent on giving it to the PNC.”
