Judgement Debt Commission postpones sitting

The Judgment Debt Commission has postponed its first sitting for 2013 to Tuesday, January 15.

The Commission instituted by President John Dramani Mahama to investigate all undue payments of money to persons and organizations will resume sittings on Monday, January 14.

Some Ministers and organizations will appear before the Commission to make clear the reasons that led to the payment of any immoderate sum of money from the national coffers.

Speaking to Citi FM, the Public Relations Director of the Commission, George William Dove indicated that the sittings will see some individuals and organizations reappearing before the Commission to present evidence to clarify their issues.

He noted that “some people were here earlier and the information they gave was not enough so they promised to bring more information and that is what we are waiting for”, therefore adding that “since it is a court, those who came earlier had to come back again if they had not submitted adequate information.”

Justice Yaw Apau is the Sole Commissioner presiding over the judgement debt cases.
