Central
Regional Propaganda Secretary of the ruling National Democratic
Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has asked Ghanaians to repose confidence
in the Mahama-led government in solving the energy crises in the
country.
Allotey Jacobs, speaking to host of Peace FM's "Kokrokoo"
Morning Show, Kwami Sefa-Kayi, was optimistic the government will soon
resolve the energy challenges and ensure supply of electricity to the
entire nation.
According to him, President John Dramani Mahama is
working around the clock to secure oil in adequate quantities to
augment the generation of electricity by the Volta River Authority in a
bid to curb the current erratic power supply.
Allotey Jacobs, who
hailed the government for not resting on its oars in finding lasting
solutions to the energy situation, also found the incessant demands by
Ghanaians ridiculous and emphasized that building the "energy capacity
is not so easy as one might think. It’s like having 24 hours of
electricity every day and all of sudden, you’re told that for three
days; you’ll go off for 12 hours…” but the government is “managing it.”
He
further stressed that “it is prudent management ensuring that the
little power is distributed equally till we rectify the situation." |
