Nana Addo Still Remains NPP’s Biggest Chance Of Annexing The Presidency

Daily Searchlight Editor-in-Chief, Kenneth Agyei Kuranchie has called on members and leadership of the New Patriotic Party to rally round the party's two-time Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo.

Nana Akufo-Addo recently declared his intention to contest the flagbearer position for the third time and hoped to clinch victory for the NPP, come 2016.

He indicated that he would vie for the position when the party opens nominations.

According to him, his decision is informed by calls on him from all section of the Ghanaian citizenry to salvage the economy.

"I have been humbled by the loyalty, the confidence and trust the millions of Ghanaians have given to me…The message from Ghanaians who are not NPP members including supporters of other political parties…We have heard your message. We know who you are and what you stand and we’re ready to vote for in our numbers in 2016. In spite of all the disappointments of the last few years, I cannot ignore these calls."

Ken Kuranchie, contributing to a political analysis programme on Oman FM, stressed the need for the NPP to seek refuge in Nana Addo.

According to him, Nana Addo is the party's "greatest hope" to oust the ruling National Democratic Congress from the seat of Government, come 2016.

“NPP, 2016, Nana is our greatest hope of getting to the Presidency” and the NDC is “desperate about Nana Addo vying again," he emphasized.

He also took a swipe at critics who argue that Nana's age would not favour the position he seeks to contest.

To Ken Kuranchie, age is insignificant if only the NPP 2012 Presidential candidate is poised to take the party to the promise land. “What is age? And how does age affect delivery?" he questioned.
