The
Chief Executive of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kojo Twum Boafo has
pooh-poohed Nana Akufo-Addo's decision to contest the New Patriotic
Party (NPP's) flagbearership primaries and possibly the 2016
Presidential Elections saying the NPP stalward is a pale shadow of his
former self.
He considers Nana Addo's declaration to lead the NPP for the third time as an affront to the integrity of Ghanaians.
He
explained on Radio Gold's Alhaji and Alhaji programme that the
twice-defeated NPP Presidential hopeful has nothing good to offer
Ghanaians.
According to him, by virtue of Nana Addo's decision to
"disenfranchise" millions of Ghanaians when he petitioned the Supreme
Court to overturn the votes cast for President John Dramani Mahama, he
has betrayed the confidence that the electorates reposed in him.
The
2008 and 2012 NPP flagbearer, on Thursday, March 20 2014, confirmed his
return to frontline politics. He indicated that he would contest the
flagbearership position when nomination opens.
Describing Nana
Addo as a "strident and arrogant" political figure, Kojo Twum Boafo
averred that he (Nana Addo) is not ready to learn anything even at the
age of 70 and also questioned the logic in the media reports on Nana
Addo's comeback into frontline politics in Ghana.
“What kind of
joke is this? At a time when we live in a country where we need to push
an agenda to develop this country, this is what the media is reporting.
And they really want to tell us that they didn’t know that this is what
he was going to do?
“…Nana Addo has not learnt anything and he
will never learn anything because you cannot expect anybody who is as
strident and as arrogant as he is to learn anything at 70,” Kojo Twum
Boafo.
