I’m Very Much Disappointed In Dr Apraku…But Be Measured In Criticizing Him – NPP MP Tells Activists

Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, Member of Parliament for Tema East, has expressed disappointment in the former Campaign Manager of the two-time Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku over his recent comments regarding the party's leadership.

Dr. Apraku, delivering a keynote address at the grand inauguration of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy of the NPP Alumni (TESCONA), stunned the party faithfuls when he asserted that the party's leaders should be changed if only the NPP hopes to win power, come 2016.

He called for a possible revolution in the party and purportedly advocated that the 2012 flagbearer and two-time Presidential candidate of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, also deserves to be changed.

He posited that, after two successive defeats, there is an absolute need for a re-election to "diagnose the causes of the defeat rather than to dream to lead the party again."

On the flipside, Hon. Titus Glover, an NPP staunch member believes Dr. Apraku has lost touch with the reality in the party.

According to him, he being a strong advocate of Nana Addo sees potentials in him and therefore was cocksure he (Nana Addo) is the pivot of the party. He also wondered why Dr. Apraku would disparage Nana Addo's efforts in the NPP.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, he however called on the party faithfuls and supporters of Nana Addo to measure their criticisms about Dr. Apraku.

“People should not get up and try to insult, vilify or say things that are negative. But I’m disappointed in Apraku, himself, because he’s one person who has worked so hard in this campaign with Nana Akufo Addo and all of us. So, if he says that Akufo-Addo should be changed, then he’s not really on the ground. Akufo Addo never lost the elections. They (NDC) stole the verdict," he noted.

He further advised Dr. Apraku who is widely believed to have expressed interest in contesting the flagbearership of the party for the 2016 general elections, saying “if you want to contest for flagbearership, you don’t go attacking others and thereby throwing ammunition to the NDC…I don’t believe in that. Come with your own strength; what you think you can do and do better than what he’s doing now...

“I am a total fan of Nana Akufo-Addo because I believe in his ideals, in his vision and know what he can do for the party.”
