Ghana's
first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah's son, Sekou Nkrumah has
lashed out at the current administration, denting the credibility of
President John Dramani Mahama for the 2016 general elections.
Speaking
in an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Sekou Nkrumah insisted that
President John Mahama would not be a good candidate for the ruling
National Democratic Congress, come 2016.
According to him, the
President has failed to be better than his predecessors who, in his
view, couldn't salvage the economy from its over-reliance on
international aid.
Sekou Nkrumah averred that President John
Mahama, instead of managing the nation's resources to boost the progress
of the economy, has also replicated the attitude of past governments.
In view of this, he posited that President Mahama is not a "good
Presidential material going forward for 2016."
“I don’t think
President Mahama is a good candidate…I wish to see another candidate but
going by what the NDC has shown, it looks like they will not change the
candidate," he added. |
