NPP
stanch devotee, John Kumah says Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the
party's 2012 flagbearer, bears a resemblance with Nelson Mandela, as one
of the great leaders who have selflessly rated their countries above
their political ambitions.
According to him, Nana Addo deserves
to be compared to Nelson Mandela, South Africa's first black President,
who chalked a remarkable feat for his country.
Nelson Mandela passed away last Thursday in his home after suffering from lung infection.
His
exploits transcend any personal ambitions of politicians and as
described by some fanatics of his as a "Saint" indeed set an outstanding
example for political leaders in the world and the African continent in
particular.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, John Kumah could not
find any other description aside the fact that, to him, Nana Addo's
achievement, experiences and sacrifices for his country also portray him
as the next "Nelson Mandela" for Ghana.
He posited that Nana Addo has denied himself of all his comfort to ensure that Ghana becomes a better nation to live in.
He
further stated that he (Nana Addo) has taken the nation to heart and
proved to be a peerless leader and politician in the country.
“If
it is about personal comfort and social status, I think Akufo- Addo
wouldn’t even have done politics because he has it all. But he has
decided to sacrifice his life to improve the lives of the people of
Ghana. And I think in that respect; sacrificing for welfare of society,
denying yourself of personal peace and comfort for the benefit of
society, Akufo-Addo has done a lot…I think Nana has a lot resemblance to
Nelson Mandela in terms of their heart and passion for their nation.”
he opined. |
