Outspoken
NDP member, Ernest Owusu Bempah has conspicuously called on lawmakers
in the country to impeach President John Dramani Mahama.
According
to Owusu Bempah, the President has extremely tainted his hands with
corruption and other unseemly practices and so demands to be sanctioned.
Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, he did not mince words as he called for the arrest of President Mahama as a matter of principle.
Linking
his point to the recent arrest of Dr. Samuel Tobin of Tobinco
Pharmaceuticals Limited, Owusu Bempah stated categorically that such
prompt action by the Security agencies should equally be extended to the
Presidency.
To him, President Mahama has cost the nation
whopping sums of money adding that he (President Mahama) swore an oath
to protect the State coffers and the breach by him calls for his arrest.
“...the
President should even be arrested; the President of the Republic of
Ghana, John Mahama…The President’s hand is tainted with corruption and
should be arrested by now…and investigated by law...
“This is a
President who has sworn the allegiance to protect public purse and swore
as enshrined in the constitution that if anything the President does is
against the sovereignty of this country he should be dealt with or he
should be impeached or he should be investigated. It’s clear; you don’t
need a soothsayer to tell us that.” |
