Controversy surrounding the burial of the late Ga Mantse

Some factions of the Ga State have vehemently raised concerns about the burial of the late Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Tawiah III.

The people say they do not recognize the deceased as substantive Ga Mantse and therefore to them, their Ga Mantse is not dead but alive.

According to them, Bone Nii Tackie Adama Latse II is the legitimate Ga Mantse.

The late Nii Tackie Tawiah III, known in private life as Dr. Joe Blankson, died in London last year after he took ill.

The Ga community is yet to make a decision on the arrangements for the late Ga Mantse’s burial but those opposed to his legitimacy say they will disallow the authorities to give him a royal burial since they do not recognize him as a royal.
