The New Patriotic Party's Members of Parliament may review their decision to boycott the on-going vetting of the ministerial nominees of President John Mahama.
The minority's introspection comes on the heels of heated criticisms by some civil organizations and the Ghana Bar Association demanding that they rescind their decision and therefore participate in the vetting process, in order not to undermine the nation's interest.
Speaking to Citi FM, minority leader; Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu indicated that the party is reconsidering their decision.
He noted: “We have taken a lot of things into consideration and for now we have in mind that what we are doing is the best cause but when the need arises for us to do introspection on any major decision that comes before us, why not?”
He however stated that the party's stance on the issue of boycotting the vetting of the nominees by the Parliamentary Appointments Committee still holds.
He further said that they may not hesitate to review their decision should the need arise.
“For now, we are sure that the decision is the right thing and the right cause however; we have reliably been informed that within the caucus of the Bar Association, there was some disapproval,” he added.
