Turkey Offers $300m Support

The Ghanaian Private sector is to benefit from a five hundred million dollar facility from the Turkish Exim Bank to boost trade activities between the two countries.

Turkeys Prime Minister Recep Erdogan who directed the Turkish Exim Bank to dole out the money has requested Ghana to provide a priority list for additional funding.

President John Mahama who announced this during an interaction with Ghanaian Businessmen and their Turkish counterparts said he will expedite action on the priority list to be presented to the Turkish government.


President Mahama, stated that area's of concentration will be on the expansion of Ghana's harbours and Ports, establishment of a national Airline, roads and bridges among others.


The President assured the Turkish Private Sector that his administration will step up efforts to curb bureaucracies that accompany the acquisition of business permits and licenses to operate in Ghana.

Turkey says it hopes to establish a Billion-Dollar trade with Ghana within the next two years.
