It
appears the feud between the New Patriotic Party Chairman at Adenta
constituency, Richard Obiri Yeboah and the constituency's 2012
Parliamentary candidate, Frances Assiam may linger on for a while since
they are not ready to surrender.
While the latter, Frances Asiam
is calling on the National executives of the party to interdict the
constituency Chairman, he is also, on the flip side, bent on having her
sanctioned by the party's disciplinary committee.
She wants the
party's constituency Chairman, Richard Obiri Yeboah ousted from his
office because according to her, he has over the years exhibited sheer
disloyalty to the NPP.
“He should start parking his bag and
baggage and he will face the full rigours of the NPP disciplinary
action…He will regret ever going against me because I have not offended
him,” she said.
However, the constituency Chairman, Richard Obiri
Yeboah has also asked the disciplinary committee of the party to
investigate the misdemeanor of the party's 2012 Adenta Parliamentary
candidate.
Speaking in an interview on Okay Fm, Mr. Obiri Yeboah
noted that the constituency executives have served Madam Frances Asiam
with her suspension letter as part of plans to sanction her over actions
deemed inappropriate by the rank and file of the NPP.
He
revealed that Madam Frances Asiam once stirred riot within the
constituency during a general meeting by the executives on the election
petition case which was filed by the 2012 Presidential candidate, Nana
Akufo Addo, his Running mate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the party Chair,
Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, at the Supreme Court.
In the course of the
meeting, the NPP Parliamentary aspirant is said to have “organized
thugs and mobilized them in a party car to disrupt the meeting and also
threatened to beat the organizer. So, the organizer reported (the
incident cum threat) to the Police Station."
"But the party has
got its laws, so, the organizer petitioned the constituency executives
and the executives sat down and referred her conduct to the disciplinary
committee,” he said.
To him, Madam Frances Asiam, who he
described as a “mere member”, has become a "nuisance" to the
constituency and the entire party. |
