2012
New Patriotic Party Parliamentary candidate for the Adenta
constituency, Frances Asiam has called on the party's executives to
expel the constituency Chairman for failing to comply with the NPP's
constitution.
She wants the constituency Chairman, Richard Obiri
Yeboah ousted from his office because, according to her, he has over the
years exhibited sheer disloyalty towards the NPP.
She disclosed
that the constituency Chairman is in bed with the ruling National
Democratic Congress and fomenting trouble within the opposition party.
Providing
a detailed account of some of the inactions and actions by the
constituency Chairman, Frances Asiam told Okay FM's morning show host,
Kwame Nkrumah Tikese that prior to the 2012 Parliamentary elections, Mr.
Obiri Yeboah stole her campaign plan and gave it to the ruling NDC.
This, she noted, was calculated by him to run her together with the NPP down.
“Obiri
Yeboah convened a meeting in the house of one of the Council of Elders
and ten of them sat and came out with a document that the party should
change me as a candidate, and they have removed me as a candidate…It was
completely illegal.
“Meanwhile, during the campaign, Obiri Yeboah took our campaign plan and gave to the NDC at Adenta.”
She also described him as a "counterfeit dealer and a disgraceful human being."
According
to her, he has committed treason against the party and so, called on
the regional and national executives to " interdict Mr. Obiri Yeboah
according to the party’s constitution and to suspend him with immediate
effect according to disciplinary procedures because he has contravened”
the rules of the party.
“He should start parking his bag and
baggage…he will face the full rigours of the NPP disciplinary action…He
will regret ever going against me because I have not offended him,” she
strongly said.
Madam Frances Essiam, who contested for Adentan
Parliamentary seat on the NPP ticket and lost to the NDC, has been
accused by the constituency executives of assault and threat of death on
the life of the constituency organizer.
Touching on her
suspension by the constituency executives following an alleged complaint
made against her, Frances Asiam did not mince words as she proudly
posited that the constituency Chairman "has no right under the NPP
constitution to suspend me, Odeneho Obatanpa Frances Asiam; bona fide
member of the NPP. I don’t have the letter he’s talking about in my hand
or my house…He’s out of touch with modern day politics.”
