The
Deputy Communications Director of the National Democratic Party (NDP),
Ernest Owusu Bempah has taken a swipe at the leadership of the Trade
Union Congress (TUC) and the Ghana Federation of Labour (GFL),
describing them "useless."
According to the NDP firebrand, the
labour front has woefully failed Ghanaians since they could not defend
the citizenry against the government and the Public Utility Regulatory
Commission's clout.
To him, the "tariff increase is hitting the
government so badly…The decision taken by PURC and all those people
involved and the stakeholders is not going down well for the
government.”
Making his submissions on Oman FM, he advised the
leaders of the labour front to lead a crusade and challenge the
government to reduce the tariffs on utilities in the nation.
“The
Labour front needs to take up the leadership mantle to challenge
government to make sure that that unnecessary price hikes and the other
issues associated with tariffs; they will defend it. They are the people
who should have led the crusade but they’ve woefully failed the people
of Ghana. The Labour front has failed Ghanaians because those there are
useless.” |
