Ghanaian movie luminary, Yvonne Nelson has reiterated her call on President John Dramani Mahama and authorities in charge of the energy sector to rectify the power problems affecting the nation.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Yvonne Nelson addressed her concerns to the government stating emphatically that Ghanaians deserve better services from State agencies.
She expressed worry over the inability of the government to fix the problem; saying “the whole of Ghana is actually happy about what we’re doing. So, it doesn’t disturb us at all (when some people hurl invectives at us) because when you’re embarking on something great, you would go through challenges. So, it doesn’t disturb us at all. It’s a good cause. The truth is a total defense. This is something that is happening to Ghana and Ghanaians, and we’re just speaking about it.”
According to her, Ghanaians did not bid for the kind of treatment that the Government of Ghana is giving them so far as supply of electricity to consumers is concerned.
“We’re not attacking the government. We’re not insulting anyone. We just need our voices to be heard as Ghanaians. We don’t deserve this. We deserve better. We’ve come a long way as a country. We don’t deserve this,” Yvonne Nelson said. |
