Kweku Baako: Since The 90's NDC Hypocrites Have Always Tried To Criminalize Nana Addo

Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide, Kweku Baako Jnr. has condemned the verbal attacks on the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo following the escalation of the internal strife within the opposition party, particularly in the wake of the murder of the party's Upper East Regional Chairman Mahama Adams. Following the death of the late Mahama Adams, political critics and members of the ruling National Democratic Congress have accused the party's flagbearer of not taking the bull by the horn in addressing the Regional Chairmen decision to call for a vote of no confidence in National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong and the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong's rantings against the two national executives. According to them, Nana Addo has failed to exhibit good leadership character in handling the party's internal conflicts, with specific reference to the murder of the late Mahama Adams. Contributing to Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Kweku Baako Jnr. was however not surprised those political figures have begun to drag Nana Addo into the issue. Mr. Baako told host Kwami Sefa Kayi that it is a deliberate attempt by the NDC to pin Nana Addo down and so, since 1995 have tried to dent his political image. They, he stated, have even described him as a "drug addict." “There has been a calculated deliberate attempt, very conscious one, to reduce all the problems the NPP is having to one person; Nana Akufo-Addo. It’s calculated. It’s deliberate. It’s mischievous but I understand in terms of real politics [Kwami]. It’s predictable. Coming from his political opponent, coming from people who see him as their main challenger come the next elections; why not? “As much as possible, they will try to bastardize his leadership, bastardize his personality; indeed criminalize him. Which they have been doing for years anyway, for years! It’s documented. As far back as 1995, the NDC begun to tag Akufo-Addo as a criminal, somebody with a violent track record and a drug addict.” To Kweku Baako Jnr., the NDC's mischief will not break Nana Addo.
