The Executive Director of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere Darko has implored the ruling National Democratic Congress and the opposition New Patriotic Party to accept the Supreme Court’s verdict on the disputed electoral results in the December polls.
He advised both parties to take into good faith the verdict irrespective of which party it favours.
The New Patriotic Party has challenged the electoral figures churned out in the just-ended Presidential elections and are yet to further their case in the Supreme Court for what they say are some inconsistencies in the results which put President John Mahama ahead of his competitors.
Though the opposition party raised concerns about the results, President-elect John Dramani Mahama was proclaimed winner in the polls by the Electoral Commission.
NPP stalwarts and supporters have since the declaration of President Mahama as yet-to-be sworn in President of the next administration, protested the results and accused the Electoral Commission and the ruling NDC of electoral fraud.
The party has hinted it will begin its law suit on December 28 this year.
Gabby Otchere Darko appealed to the leaders of both parties to respect the court’s decision at the end of case.
