Deputy Information Minister's driver arrested for theft




The Nima Police have arrested two persons for allegedly stealing money worth over 20,000 cedis from the Deputy Information Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.

The two suspects; a washing bay attendant and the Minister’s driver, were apprehended by the Police to assist in investigations into the theft case.

The driver is reported to have taken the car containing the money to a washing bay at Nima but returned without the money.

A complaint was lodged with the Nima Police following a query to ascertain the whereabouts of the money. The driver denied knowledge of the missing money.

The washing bay attendant was later arrested by the Police for further interrogation.

According to the Greater Accra Police Public Relations (PRO), DSP Freeman Tettey, the Police have begun investigations into the case.

He assured the Police will make frantic efforts to  unveil the mystery about the missing money.
