Sitting MP for Jaman North not dead but alive

The Medical Director of the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani, Dr. Jacob Abebrese, has disclaimed rumours that Chieftaincy and Culture Affairs Minister, Alexander Asum-Ahensah, has passed away.

There have been rumours in the public that the Minister has died following his collapse in the just-ended elections.

Mr. Asum-Ahensah, who is also the sitting Member of Parliament for Jaman North Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region passed out upon ceding his seat to Siaka Stevens of the New Patriotic Party.

He was rushed to the the Sampa Government Hospital but later hospitalized at the Regional Hospital in Sunyani after the incident happened.

He was reported to be in critical condition.

Several reports pointed out that the Minister had died in the hospital.

But the Medical Director of the facility in an interview with Daily Guide noted that the Minister was still alive adding that he was not transferred to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital as rumoured.

He disclosed that the Minister will be discharged on Monday.
