Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has
hinted that very soon she will set up music and dance school in the country due
to her insatiable passion for music.
She explained that the initiative is in fulfilment
of her long-awaited dream.
When it comes to the political figures who chill
out a lot in the entertainment world of arts and music, Mrs. Rawlings’ name
stand tall since she’s typically spotted in many major entertainment events
across the nation.
Her recent stop was at the just-ended “Versatile
Show” last Friday at the National Theatre. The “Versatile Show” was a
brainchild of the insurmountable rap-doctor, Okyeame Kwame.
Mrs. Rawlings indicated that her torrid love for
music convinced her years ago to set up a school to promote music in the
country.
In a media interview, she noted that she has been
“crazy about music and I even want to start music and dance school,” and
therefore has been “planning this since I was like thirty years… It’s been my
dream and I still think I should manifest it…”
She also expressed her love for the Ghanaian arts
and drama, and advised the players in the sector to aim at building the nation.
“I think that the arts, drama and music help a
country to develop a certain way.”
She also advised musicians to make the right choice
of words for their songs.
Mrs. Rawlings this year had her political dream
shattered when her party, the National Democratic Party (NDP) was disqualified
from the Presidential race in the December polls.
Though a bit of disappointment in the political
ambience, Mrs. Rawlings’ track record as maybe the funkiest First Lady in the
Ghanaian entertainment world stands undisputed.
