Parliament in October this year approved a monthly salary of 12,000 cedis for the President; 10,500 cedis for his vice and between 8,000 and 9,000 cedis for ministers and their deputies.
The move was heavily criticized by a cross section of the public and some civil society groups.
President Mahama subsequently proposed to Parliament to consider a review of the emoluments to ensure it was aligned more realistically with the original recommendations of the Professor Awurama Addy Committee.
However, a source hinted Myjoyonline.com that, at a joint caucus meeting held in-camera on Thursday, the House reportedly unanimously rejected the president’s proposal for a review and referred the matter back to the President.
