NPP supporter hangs himself after party defeat

A 28-year-old man has committed suicide following the defeat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The deceased who is said to be a staunch supporter of the party and its Presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, hanged himself with a sponge when his candidate was pronounced looser in the December polls.

Stephen Manu, commonly known as Zack, according to sources vowed to take his life if Nana Addo did not emerge victor in the polls.

Zack resorted to drinking after the declaration of the electoral results which placed President John Dramani Mahama ahead of the NPP candidate.

He is also said to have rained harsh criticisms on the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari Gyan, accusing him of collusion to rob Nana Addo of his victory in the elections.

Zack pined away in his room near Dot’s Spot at Teshie in Accra and left behind a child.

The deceased’s family are still thrown into a state of shock and agony.
